Portable HPC Creation

Will Mayers, Alces Flight

With the advent of cloud HPC the possibilities of developing portable workloads are more real than ever.  This breakout session is focused on building a portable cloud HPC cluster using the Alces Flight toolsets.  Currently available on AWS, Google and Azure we will work through the basics of constructing and launching a cloud HPC cluster including adding job scheduler, applications, and more.  This workshop is focused entirely on free subscription and open source.  Those wishing to participate need a laptop with access to internet connection.  No cloud platform account is required to be set in advance, however, instructions on how to set-up Alces Flight using a personal account post-session will be provided.
